2023 CHANTICLEER CABERNET SAUVIGNON

The 2023 Cabernet pours to an alluring purple ruby in the glass and hits you with a density of aromas;  exotic dark plum liqueur, black cherry, leather, tobacco and hints of pepper, graphite and dried rose petals. The flavors are very tightly wound and we would suggest decanting if you want to enjoy soon.  You will enjoy a mouthful of berries, cherries, plum, vanilla and a lovely lingering cocoa/coffee/mocha on the finish. Pair this with a well-marbled ribeye or strip steak, or if it’s an occasion of note, an herbed rack of lamb. 

2023 CHANTICLEER RISERVA

The 2023 Riserva shows a youthful medium ruby color in the glass. The aromas upon swirling are fruity, with cherry, raspberry, and pomegranate leading the way, followed up with violets, cedar bark, fresh soil and hints of cinnamon. That spice note carries into the flavor of the wine, clove, amidst tart cherry, blackberry, Japanese plum all round and juicy. More sipping reveals complex graphite, dark chocolate and subtle tannins for a dry and enduring finish. Grill something if the weather allows, a New York strip with plenty of rosemary will pair pleasingly with this wine.

2023 CHANTICLEER SANGIOVESE

This wine pours bright ruby into your glass, and as you swirl the aromas become very effusive of all things sweet and red; plums, currants, cherries and rose petals, with notes of drift wood and vanilla. Juicy on the palate, the 2023 Sangiovese has sweeter notes of a young wine, candied cherry, pomegranate, cranberry and raspberry, with a sprinkle of nutmeg. On the finish the tannins, fine grain, not harsh, dries your mouth and that juiciness lingers. Serve with something saucy, as in marinara, arrabbiata, or Bolognese.
