2023 Chanticleer Sangiovese

This wine pours bright ruby into your glass, and as you swirl the aromas become very effusive of all things sweet and red; plums, currants, cherries and rose petals, with notes of drift wood and vanilla. Juicy on the palate, the 2023 Sangiovese has sweeter notes of a young wine, candied cherry, pomegranate, cranberry and raspberry, with a sprinkle of nutmeg. On the finish the tannins, fine grain, not harsh, dries your mouth and that juiciness lingers. Serve with something saucy, as in marinara, arrabbiata, or Bolognese.
